Who is Enclave Decor Co. and what do you make?

Enclave Decor Co. is a small South African maker of handcrafted fabric lampshades and turned-wood bobbin lamp bases. Every piece is designed and made to order in our Sandton, Johannesburg workshop. We ship across South Africa.

Where are you based?

Our workshop is in Sandton, Johannesburg. We do not run a walk-in showroom. The site is the primary way to view and order our work.

Do you ship across South Africa?

Yes, countrywide. We ship with The Courier Guy. Standard delivery is 3 to 5 working days to major centres after dispatch. Outlying areas add a day or two.

How long does an order take from purchase to delivery?

Most orders are dispatched within 3 days of purchase. After that, The Courier Guy delivers in 3 to 5 working days to major centres (a day or two more for outlying areas). So roughly 6 to 8 working days end-to-end. We email a dispatch confirmation as soon as your order ships.

Can I commission a custom lampshade or lamp base?

Yes. We take commissions for lampshades in a fabric you supply or a custom colourway, and for bobbin bases in custom heights or finishes. Custom pricing and lead times are quoted on a per-project basis depending on scope and order size. Email sales@enclavedecor.co.za with what you have in mind and we will come back with a quote.

Do you offer trade or interior-designer pricing?

Yes, project by project. We welcome interior designer collaborations and enjoy the work. Send your brief to sales@enclavedecor.co.za and we will get back to you.

How do I care for a handmade fabric lampshade?

Dust monthly with a soft brush or lint roller. For deeper cleaning, use a barely-damp soft cloth on cotton and linen shades and test a hidden area first. Silk and Sanderson toile shades should be dust-cleaned only. Avoid solvents, spray cleaners, and storing anywhere damp or in direct sunlight.

How do I choose the right lampshade size?

A reliable rule: the shade should be roughly two-thirds the height of the lamp base, and at least as wide as the widest part of the base. A bedside lamp usually suits a 25-35cm shade; a living-room table lamp suits 35-45cm. Send us a photo of your lamp with approximate dimensions and we will recommend a size.
