Heirloom Lampshades & Hand-Turned Lamp Bases, Made in Johannesburg
Enclave Décor is a small Johannesburg studio creating heirloom-quality lighting for South African homes. Every gathered lampshade is cut, pleated, and bound by hand in our Sandton workshop, and the bobbins for our lamp bases are hand-turned one piece at a time by a local South African wood turner on a traditional lathe, never a copy lathe. We do the sanding, colour, wiring and assembly in our studio. Nothing we make is mass-produced, because nothing we make is meant to be replaced in a season.
We work in small batches with natural cotton and linen fabrics, matching or contrast bias binding, and solid brass fittings imported to our own specifications. Our signature hardback construction sets us apart: it gives each lampshade enduring structure, stops it slumping in humid summers, and keeps your lighting looking as considered ten years from now as the day it arrived.
Our lamp bases are finished in our workshop with a specialised high-gloss coating and paired with bespoke brass fittings. Choose a base and shade together for a complete, heirloom-worthy lighting set, or refresh an existing lamp with one of our handcrafted shades in classic botanicals, solid colours, or our cult-favourite ruched mini skirts.
