Turned Wood

Turned wood is the material we use for our lamp bases. Every base is shaped on the lathe in our Sandton workshop from a single piece of solid hardwood, then finished in warm amber so the grain stays visible.

The catalogue currently holds one turned-wood piece, the Beaumont hand-turned bobbin lampstand, and it’s designed to sit under any of our gathered or ruched-skirt mini lampshades. Wood brings a warmth that brass or ceramic bases can’t match, and solid hardwood keeps the lamp planted.
