Paisley, the teardrop or boteh motif, traces back to Persian and Kashmiri weaving and was popularised through 19th-century Scottish textiles. It’s one of those patterns that reads slightly differently in every generation.

We use paisley cottons with rich ground colours for shades that work in libraries, reading nooks, principal bedrooms, and bohemian sitting rooms. Each is gathered by hand in our Sandton workshop, with the pleating softening the density of the pattern so it stays readable. Pair with our hand-turned Beaumont bobbin stand, or slip over an existing lamp to warm up a neutral room.
