Description
Black and White Chevron is the one graphic pattern in my range. Zigzag lines block-printed by hand on cream cotton. The hand-printing means each zigzag has slight variation, so up close the shade looks handmade rather than mechanical. Across the room, the pattern becomes a strong confident line rather than a busy print.
Made in our Sandton studio on a hardback frame. I use this shade in rooms that already have some pattern going on — a chevron shade on a chevron rug, or a black-white shade in a room with black-framed prints or furniture. It answers pattern with pattern rather than trying to soften it.
Pair it with the Beaumont bobbin in natural wood for a warmer contrast, or in Mistbound if you want the black-and-white to stay strictly graphic.
Make a bold statement with this striking lampshade. Featuring a classic zigzag pattern hand-printed using traditional block printing techniques, this fabric blends timeless design with artisanal craftsmanship. The crisp contrast between black and white adds modern edge, while the subtle imperfections of hand printing lend it character and authenticity.
This gathered lampshade is made of 100% cotton fabric handprinted in Jaipur, India. This shade strikes the perfect balance between tradition and contemporary chic.
Made in Sandton
Every lampshade is cut, pleated, and bound by hand in our small Sandton studio, one piece at a time. Shipped countrywide via The Courier Guy, in packaging designed to keep the shade shape intact through delivery.
Style this shade with our Beaumont bobbin lampstand — hand-turned on a lathe from solid South African Saligna by a local wood turner, then finished in one of three signature colours: Mistbound, Heritage Green, or Emberstone. Common questions
What lampshade fitter do your shades take?
All Enclave lampshades come with a standard ES (E27) ring fitting that suits most bedside, table and floor lamps in South Africa. If your lamp has a bulb-clip fitter or a European B22 socket, let me know when you order — I can adapt the fitting for you at no extra cost.
Are your shades hardback or softback?
Hardback. Every Enclave shade is bound onto a rigid polystyrene laminate frame — that’s what stops the pleats slumping in humid Joburg summers or coastal weather, and it’s what gives the shade its clean silhouette year after year.
How do I care for my lampshade?
Dust it gently with a soft brush or the brush attachment on your vacuum on low suction, roughly once a month. For a mark or smudge, dab with a barely-damp white cloth — never soak the fabric. Kept away from direct sunlight, an Enclave shade should look as considered ten years from now as the day it arrived.
Can I order a custom lampshade?
Yes. I take commissions in your choice of fabric, colour and size — either from a Sanderson or block-print I already work with, or from a fabric you supply. WhatsApp me on 084 509 5892 with the base you’re pairing it to and I’ll come back with proportions and a quote.
Do you ship nationwide in South Africa?
Yes — every order ships via The Courier Guy, boxed and cushioned so it arrives the way it left the studio. Standard lead time is 3-5 working days from Johannesburg to major centres, and 5-7 to smaller towns. You’ll get a tracking link the moment the parcel is picked up.
Where is Enclave Decor based?
We’re a small handmade lighting studio in Sandton, Johannesburg. Every shade is gathered and bound by hand in our workshop, and the bobbins for our lamp bases are hand-turned by a local South African wood turner, and we do the sanding, colour, wiring and assembly in the studio.
