Every Enclave Décor lampshade is cut, gathered, and bound by hand in our Johannesburg workshop. We work in small batches with natural fabrics sourced from reputable South African and imported fabric houses, paired with matching or contrast bias binding and a piped cord — the finishing details that lift a simple shade into a considered interior piece.

Our hardback construction is distinctive to the brand. The hardback holds the shape cleanly over time, resists slumping in humid conditions, and gives each shade the structure to sit proudly on any base. It’s why our customers keep their lampshades for years rather than seasons.

What fabrics do you use for your lampshades?

We work with heritage fabric house designs including Sanderson toiles (on our Pillemont Toile and Mini Sanderson Toile pieces) alongside carefully sourced cottons, linens, and silks. Each fabric is chosen for how it drapes on the frame, how it diffuses light, and how it wears over time. The specific fabric is listed on every product page.

What sizes of lampshade do you make?

Our full-size gathered range is offered in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, and our Ruched-Skirt Mini range in Small and Medium. Each product page lists exact top diameter, bottom diameter, and height per size. They vary slightly by shade design. Custom sizes are available on commission.

Do you make matching pairs for bedside lamps?

Yes. Most gathered lampshades can be ordered as a matching pair. We align the fabric pattern between the two pieces as closely as possible. Because each shade is hand-gathered, slight natural variation is part of the handmade character. Add two of the same lampshade to your cart and we will mark them as a pair on production.
